Ana Rod creates suggestive ceramic biomorphic sculptures, with constant echoes and allusions to the natural world and the behavior of matter, from the observation of macroscopic and microscopic scales indistinctly. Both in her smaller format pieces and in her installations, she manages to transition between the figurative and the abstract, between the disturbing and the familiar. The body-mind connection, that is, sensoriality-intellect, for a long time disdained in the Western world, is vindicated in her work. Through her organically shaped sculptures, Ana Rod aspires to connect her work with a sense of contemplative expression and interaction with the natural world, understood as a complex and deeply connected whole.

<< My work alludes to a state prior to the concretion of matter, a space where the possibilities are infinite and where nature reinvents itself.

At first glance, the sensory appeals to us to awaken springs of the collective imagination, small triggers that unleash stimuli from the subconscious and generate a resonance.

On a deeper layer, by fusing references to organic elements, modular structures and concepts such as entropy or potentiality, I reflect on the randomness and chance of our own existence, seeking a connection with primordial nature, the quantum universe and the duality of matter.>>
